Group Ride

Tuesdays: Social Ride After-Work Loop (starting 31/03/26)

Our Tuesday after-work ride is relaxed, social, and conversation-friendly. ☀️ We start at “Ruprecht Rides” in Bahnstadt. 🦖 Everyone is explicitly welcome, especially people who are new to cycling, ride a gravel bike, or do not feel comfortable in more performance-oriented groups. We choose the pace so that even the slowest rider can enjoy the ride. However, you should be able to ride at around 22 km/h on flat terrain and in a group. On climbs, everyone rides at their own pace. Please always pay attention to your own safety and the safety of others. For us, that also includes wearing a helmet. Feel free to message one of the admins if you have any questions :)

Wednesdays: Speedy Ride (starting 01/04/26)

⏰ Every Wednesday, 6:00 PM

If you have been riding for a while and are looking for more of a challenge, this is the right group for you.
The route will usually be around 60 to 80 km long, with a maximum of 1,000 metres of elevation gain, and the pace will be around 24 to 30 km/h. We make sure to look out for everyone, and after climbs we briefly wait at the top until the group is back together. At the same time, the university sports social ride also takes place (https://onlineanmeldung.hochschulsport.uni-heidelberg.de/oa_oeff/programm.php?s=s).

Thursdays: Gravel Ride (with Ruprecht Rides) (year-round)

Meeting point is in front of the shop at 6:30 PM.

Saturdays: Social Ride (year-round)

⏰ Every Saturday, 10:00 AM

Every Saturday, we organise a weekly social ride with the emphasis on social: the pace is relaxed and conversation-friendly, the vibes are great. We especially welcome people who are new to cycling, ride a gravel bike, or do not feel comfortable in more performance-oriented groups. We choose the pace so that even the slowest rider can enjoy the ride without feeling like they are about to get dropped. The route is shared every week in the WhatsApp community. Just message any admin if you have questions!

FLINTA Ride

We want to organise monthly FLINTA* social rides. The exact dates and routes will be shared in our WhatsApp community and on Strava.


✅ Checklist for Our Group Rides

  • 🚦 Follow traffic rules at all times (no risky manoeuvres, no riding hands-free)
  • 🚫 No sudden braking
  • ✋ Use hand signals: left/right, obstacle, warning, stop
  • 🐢 Pace: “Social Ride Pace” – let us know if it feels too fast
  • 🧗‍♀️ Climbs: everyone rides at their own pace, and we wait at the top (stronger riders are welcome to roll back and support others)
  • ⛰️ Descents: always ride slowly and carefully
  • 🫂 Speak up if you feel uncomfortable – the group is here to support you
  • Helmet required!
